About Seffshoe

About Seffshoe

What is Seffshoe?

Seffshoe is customised footwear for foot and gait problems — not ordinary ready-made shoes. Each pair is made for your feet, with corrective orthoses built in so the footwear can still look like normal sandals, shoes, or boots. It can be prophylactic (to protect), medical, or therapeutic, depending on what you need.

Who is behind Seffshoe?

Seffshoe grew from Dhansai Laboratory’s work on measuring neuropathy risk and pressure under the feet, then designing footwear that fits Indian feet and gait — not a generic “surgical shoe” approach.

How long have you been doing this?

About 20 years, with 1,40,000+ patients helped through customised footwear and foot guidance.

Do you only make diabetic shoes?

No. Diabetes and neuropathic feet are a major focus, but Seffshoe also helps with heel pain, knee pain, arthritis, leg length variation, foot length variation, foot ulcers, corns, calluses, flat foot, plantar fasciitis, polio foot, knock knees, bow legs, non-healing ulcers, and other foot problems. Longer guides for each topic will appear in our Blogs over time.

Visits

Booking and visits

Do I need an appointment?

Yes — appointments only. Please WhatsApp or call before coming. Walk-ins without a booking may not be seen.

How do I book a free consultation?

WhatsApp or call +91 9833410235 and ask for a free foot consultation. Mention your issue and whether you can come to Goregaon or Pune (our main public clinics / Google listings). For other centres, the same number can guide you.

Where is the main clinic?

Goregaon East, Mumbai (near the station), 400063:

OD, Uttung CHS, Samant Wadi,
Behind Bharat Bank, Sonawala Road,
Goregaon East, Mumbai 400063

Pune is also listed on Google. Other doctor-run centres mainly serve their own patients and are not heavily advertised here.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. It helps us see whether customised footwear is right for you — or whether you need another path, including referral to a specialist.

Assessment

What happens when you visit

What do you check in a consultation?

Typically we:

  1. Take flat plantar photographs of both feet
  2. Examine feet for corns, calluses, axial variations, and other signs
  3. Record gait with high-speed videography on a special track (when needed)
  4. Map both feet with a standardised method

From that data we design footwear with corrective orthoses built in (at no extra cost for that design step).

Do you use special instruments?

Where useful, the lab can support:

  • Early detection of neuropathy (Sensitometer-HCP)
  • Ulcer-risk assessment (Sensitometer-VPT)
  • Plantar pressure measurement (PRADIP Pad) to find high-pressure areas
  • Sensitherm (IR) for inflammation and Charcot foot concerns

Not every patient needs every test — we use what fits your case.

Are Seffshoe products ready-made?

No. They are made to measure for your feet — not picked off a shelf in a standard size.

Misconceptions

Look, fit, and misconceptions

Will the shoes look like hospital / surgical footwear?

Many people fear heavy rocker soles and “medical-looking” shoes they refuse to wear. Seffshoe is designed so corrections stay inside where possible, so footwear can look closer to normal designer sandals, shoes, slippers, or boots — which means people actually wear them every day.

What makes the fit different from online “diabetic shoes”?

Ready-made pairs use a few commercial sizes. Seffshoe uses a detailed foot/gait approach (including the DSL® system from Dhansai Laboratory) so pressure relief and correction match your feet far more closely than a size number alone.

Can footwear alone cure every problem?

No. Some issues need medical care, physiotherapy, diet, or another specialist. We say clearly when footwear mainly adds comfort and protection rather than a full cure.

Are soft slippers enough for diabetic or neuropathic feet?

Often not. Soft slippers may not control pressure or protect the toes when sensation is reduced — and that raises the risk of self-injury and ulcers.

If I have diabetes, do I automatically need Seffshoe?

Not always. Neuropathy, pressure points, ulcers, or deformity raise risk. Free consultation helps decide. Footwear is one part of protecting a “foot at risk,” not a magic fix for every person with diabetes.

Orders

Orders, repairs, and policy

Can I cancel or return custom footwear?

No refunds and no buy-back once footwear is custom-made for your feet. It usually will not fit anyone else. Please be sure before you confirm the order.

Do you repair Seffshoe footwear?

Yes. Please wash and dry footwear before bringing it for repair, and call before coming.

Still unsure? WhatsApp us with a short note about your foot issue — usually the next step is a free consultation by appointment at Goregaon or Pune.
